The treatment begins with a diagnostic intake session, during which I will inquire about your health and the discomfort you are experiencing. Additionally, I will perform diagnostic procedures unique to Chinese medicine, such as pulse diagnosis. The goal of this session is to identify the disharmony contributing to your symptoms and formulate a personalized treatment plan.
After the diagnostic session, you will be provided with a formula designed to assist your body in returning to a balanced state, ultimately alleviating the discomfort you are feeling. The formula, presented in powder form, can be easily mixed with water. Capsules and pills are also available if the flavor is not palatable, although most patients find the herbal blend quite agreeable. The ingredients primarily consist of herbs, with minerals or animal products included at times.
It’s important to note that certain conditions may have multiple layers that require addressing to get to the root cause. While some formulas can address these layers simultaneously, other conditions might need a gradual approach. Take insomnia, for instance — difficulty falling asleep due to active thoughts may result from an upward rushing of energy towards the head. However, this upward energy movement could be caused by an underlying deficiency, preventing the mind from anchoring during sleep. In such cases, the formula aims to both redirect the energy downwards and supplement the deficiency. In more severe instances, the focus may initially be on calming the energy before addressing the deficiency.
